Jakob, nasceu em Niederhausen na Bavária e faleceu em Santa Isabel em Águas Mornas (SC), era filho de Friedrich Jakob Beppler e de Phillippine Stoch e chegou ao Brasil em 05.01.1847 juntamente com seus pais e mais três irmãos: Karl, Friedrich e Christina, a bordo da Sumaca 14 de Novembro.

Casou-se em 29.09.1877 com Margaretha Schneider, filha de Daniel Schneider e Maria Josefina Bleser.
